  • Short audio passages or recordings related to Language Arts topics.
  • Whiteboard and markers
  • Individual whiteboards or audio for students
  • Visual aids or pictures related to the passages.
  • Timer or stopwatch

 

·       Students will be able to listen actively, identify specific information in a text, and retell the information accurately.

 

 

Warm-up and Objective Discussion (10 min.)

 

·       Warm-up

Greeting students in a friendly and smiling manner.

Before starting the lesson sing a song or movement for the students

Ask the students about the previous lesson and give time for the students to answer the teacher's question.

We listen carefully to be able to correctly retell what we have heard. People often retell what they have read or heard in their own words. When a person retells a story, he/she should include the important points and say things in the correct order in which they were said.

RULES FOR LISTENING

1. Be quiet.

2. Be sure that you can hear what is being said.

3. Look at the person who is speaking.

4. Do not move away from the speaker.

5. Be sure you understand what is being said

6. Know what to listen to.

7. Think about what you hear and ask yourself, “Does this answer the question asked?”

8. Wait until you are recognized to speak before you start talking.
